On May 9th, 2006, Prof. T. G. Nieh, a world well-known expert in material of the University of Tennessee visited Institute of Powder Metallurgy Research in CSU. Prof. Nieh made a lecture on “Synthesis, Production and Application of Hydroxylapatite ” in Key National Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy. After the lecture, Prof. Nieh also visited the zoology laboratory and the molecules laboratory of the Second Xiang-ya Hospital and he wished to make cooperation with our university in biomaterial field. Prof. Nieh obtained his doctor degree in Stanford University and worked in National Lawrence Laboratory for twelve years. He made an intense study in nanocrystal, intermetallic compound, amorphous and biological ceramics. During his visit, CSU President Huang Baiyun also received him and they had a communication in mutual cooperation. |
